James Henry John Thompson

James graduated in Fine Art at Falmouth School of Art and Design in 1990.

After a year working at and exhibiting with the Bristol Printmakers Workshop he studied for an MA at Wimbledon School of Art, graduating in printmaking in 1994.

Initially influenced by English abstract and landscape painters such as Ivon Hitchens, Peter Lanyon and Patrick Heron, James' art evolved through print into works of cultural satire with a diverse range of imagery drawn from William Blake to Star Trek.

He has also worked in sculpture and ceramics as well as a continuing interest in photography.

In recent work with Ochre Print Studio he has returned to his abstract roots.

James has original pieces for sale and may be contacted through his website at www.jhenryj.co.uk.
